Jörg ist gestern mit dem Scooter gucken gefahren wie die Wintertrails aussehen. Gleichzeitig hat er auch ein paar neue Brücken gebaut. Es ist sehr viel Wasser in den Sümpfen was erst einmal gefrieren muss. Aber es soll jetzt am Dienstag kälter werden und da hoffen wir darauf das die Sümpfe danach besser aussehen. Jörg hat den Schnee ja genug plattgewalzt. Jetzt ist es aber noch sicherer und effektiver 20 Hunde am ATV zu trainieren. Und da ja 20 cm Schnee liegen, brauchen wir uns um die Pfoten keine Sorgen zu machen.

Jörg was out yesterday with the snowmobile for looking the wintertrails. In the same time he was building some new bridges. It´s a lot of water in the swamps what has to freeze first. But it should be colder at tuesday and we hope that the swamps look better after that. Jörg was rolling the snow platt enough now. Until now it´s more save and effectiv to train 20 dogs with the ATV. And after we has 20 cm snow, we don´t have to care about the paws.

Unserem See kann man trauen, er ist 10 cm dick zugefroren. Jörg fährt auch schon mit dem Scooter drüber. / We can trust our lake, it´s now 10 cm thick covered with ice. Jörg is driving with the snowmobile over it.

So sieht der Trail an ein paar Stellen aus, echt super. / So the trail looks at a few parts, really good.

Aber meistens ist es so auf den Sümpfen, selbst Susan ist ratlos. / But the most time it looks like this at the swamps, even Susan is clueless.

Der Winter kommt / Winter is coming

Nachdem es am Mittwoch geschneit hat haben wir heute bei super Sonnenschein und Schnee trainiert. Noch am ATV, den Schlitten holen wir nächstes Wochenende raus. Wir könnten schon mit dem Schlitten fahren, aber da es von morgen bis Dienstag wieder wärmer werden und regnen soll, wollen wir unsere Wintertrails noch bis Ende nächster Woche ruhen lassen. Mit dem ATV hat man auch noch mehr Kontrolle und kann dank der Schneeketten auch 20 Hunde auf einmal trainieren. Der See ist jetzt auch endlich zu. (Hallo Heiner, schicke uns doch bitte mal eine Mail damit wir Dir auch mal schreiben können)

After it was snowing last wednesday, we trained in super sunshine and snow today. We took the ATV, we will take the sled next weekend. We could drive with the sled, but it should be warmer from tomorrow until tuesday, so we let the wintertrails lay down until next weekend. We have also much more control with the ATV and with the chains on the tyres, we can train 20 dogs. The lake is finally closed now.

So, hier nun die versprochenen Bilder. Das Wetter hat sich mittags aufgeklart, so dass die Sonne den Schnee schön glitzern lies.

So, here now the pictures I promised. The weather was better during the day so that the snow was shining in the sun.

So schön man im Herbst die weissen Hunde sieht ist das im Schnee schon schwieriger. Wir sind froh um jeden schwarzen oder braunen Fleck auf den Kleinen. / As good as you can see white dogs in fall, when the snow is coming it´s a little bit more difficult. We are happy about every black or brown spot at the puppies.

Heute nacht hat es 10 cm geschneit!!! Und es schneit und windet immer noch heftig, Foto folgt heute abend :))
It was snowing about 10 cm this night. And it´s still snowing and very windy. A picture will follow later in the evening :))

Unser See... / Our lake...

ist jetzt fast ganz zugefroren. Es fehlt nur noch das Stück in der Mitte, aber da es jetzt permanent kalt bleiben soll ist das auch bald zu. Somit ist unser Schwimmbad bis Ende Mai geschlossen :)) Und jetzt schneit es grade wie Hölle (21.00 Uhr)

is nearly covered with ice. Only the part in the middle is left, but the forecast promise now cold temperatures all the time so it´s soon closed, too. So our swimmingpool is closed untill the end of May :)) And now it´s snowing like hell ( 9 p.m.)

Am Rand ist das Eis schon 5 mm dick. / At the beachside the ice is already 5 mm thick.

Alla som fick mina höstbooties på mässan ska kolla här http://www.huskies.cz/index_01.htm för att se hur man sätter fast de på hunden. Då kan ni även se hur ManMat-ägare Jarda kryper på golvet för att få optimal visning på hundens bröst och hur selen ska sitta på hunden ;))

Letztes Jahr... / Last year...

...um diese Zeit hatten wir Schnee und hätten Schlitten fahren können wenn die Hunde alt genug gewesen wären. Dieses Jahr haben wir plus 9 Grad! Da wir aber sowieso nur Junghunde haben kommt eine mehrtägige Pause wegen der Wärme ganz gelegen. Da wir denken das die Junghunde langsam aufgebaut werden sollen, bekommen die Hunde nach einem anstrengenden Trainingsblock immer eine längere Pause. Damit den Hunden nicht langweilig wird haben sie heute mal wieder Knochen bekommen.
Wir haben jetzt für das Troms Quest und den Pasvik Trail gemeldet, nächstes Jahr ist es dann endlich wieder soweit, dann wartet der Finnmarkslauf!

...at this time we had snow so that we could drive with the sled, but the dogs weren´t old enough at that time. This year it´s plus 9 degrees! But we have only young dogs so it´s not so bad to have a few days trainingsbreak because it´s too warm. We think that´s importand to build up the young dogs very slowly, so we give them always a few days off after some hard training. So that the dogs get not bored, they´ve got some bones today.
Now we signed in for the Troms Quest and for the Pasvik Trail. Eventuelly next year it will be Finnmarkslopet again!
