Besuch aus Norwegen / Norwegian visitors

Am Wochenende hatten wir Besuch aus Norwegen. Michi und seine Freundin Franzi von Kirkenes kamen bei uns auf der Durchreise nach Östersund vorbei. Bei der Gelegenheit konnten wir Franzi gleich als Doghandler für den Pavik-Trail Ende März anwerben :)) Gestern kam dann Reidar Stenmark aus Bodö mit seinen Hunden zu uns. Es ging auch gleich los zu einer Trainingstour und ich konnte mal ganz entspannt auf dem Trainingswagen sitzend Hunden beim Laufen zusehen.

This weekend we had some visitors from Norway. Michi and his girlfriend Franzi from Kirkenes came at their journey to Östersund for a short visit to our place. By the way we could recruit Franzi as our doghandler for Pasvik-Trail in the end of March :)) Yesterday came Reidar Stenmark from Bodö with his dogs. We went directly off for a trainingsrun with his dogs and I was sitting relaxed at the cart and was looking at running dogs.

Aus Welpen werden Hunde / Puppies becomes dogs now

Jörg musste heute morgen arbeiten und da bin ich (Katy) dann alleine mit unseren Hunden zum Training losgezogen. Habe unsere Hunde dabei in 2 Teams aufgeteilt, denn 21 Hunden alleine am ATV ist mir doch etwas zu dynamisch ;)) Und ich muss wirklich sagen, aus unserer ungezogenen Bande werden so langsam Hunde. Im April und Mai ist es uns fast nie gelungen ohne einen riesigen Knoten vom Hof zu fahren. Mittlerweile bleiben sie relativ ruhig im Team stehen, wickeln sich selbständig wieder aus den Leinen und tauchen auch immer wieder auf die richtige Seite der Leine. Der Start geht auch ruhig und ohne Schlägereien von statten. Sogar die Halsbänder haben wir seit 4 Wochen an den Hunden und es ist noch keines gefressen worden ;))) Aber da wir dem Braten (sprich unseren Hunden) noch nicht so ganz trauen, haben wir noch die alten Halsbänder drum und noch nicht die schönen neuen von unserem Sponsor ManMat.

Jörg had to work this morning and so I (Katy) went out to train the dogs alone. I split the dogs into two teams, to train 21 dogs alone at the ATV it´s for me a little bit too dynamic ;)) And I have to say, our naughty gang becomes dogs now. In April and May it was nearly not possible for us to drive out of the dogpen without a big knot in the lines. Meanwhile they remain relatively quiet in the team, wrap out of the lines on their own again and dive always back to the right side of the gangline. The start is also quietly and without fighting. They wear now even the collors for about 4 weeks and didn´t eat them up ;))) But we still do not trust our dogs that they didn´t eat the collars, so they have to wear the old collars and not the nice and new ones from our sponsor ManMat.

Nach dem Training geht es zum Füsse kühlen in den von Jörg gebauten Staudamm im Graben. / After the training they go for cooling down the legs in the dam built in the ditch from Jörg.

Kalte Temperaturen und heisse Weiber / Cold temperatures and hot girls

Als wir heute morgen um 5 Uhr zum Hundetraining los sind hat uns der Blick aufs Termometer schon etwas überrascht. Es hatte 0 Grad, die erste Nacht mit Frost! Die Hunde waren natürlich begeistert und waren mit Eifer bei der Sache. Die kühlen Temperaturen haben aber unsere Hündinnen nicht davon abgehalten nach 3 Monaten schon wieder heiss zu werden. Da ja auch alle gleichzeitig heiss werden, haben wir uns entschlossen noch drei "Einzelappartments" für unverträgliche Herrschaften zu bauen. Jörg hat die Pfähle mit einer schweren Ramme eingeschlagen, dann haben wir Zaun gezogen und ich (Katy) schleppe jetzt eifrig Steine heran um Ausbruchsversuche zu vereiteln.

When we went out for dogtraining at 5 o´clock this morning, the look at the termometer was a bit surprising. It was 0 degrees, the first night with frost! The dogs was of course enthusiastic and very eager. But this cold temperatures didn´t deterred our females to come into heat - again after 3 month. And of course all come together into heat, so we decided to build 3 more "single-apartments" for incompatible ladies or gentlemen. Jörg hammered in the piles with a really heavy pile driver, then we hang up the fence and I (Katy) have to move some heavy stones today that the dogs can´t make some escape attemps.

Die Pfähle sind nun alle drin und ein Teil vom Zaun hängt auch schon. / The piles are all in and parts of the fence is also ready.

Unseren beiden Hauselchen wirds nun zu bunt und sie suchen das Weite / Our two house-elks things thats enough now, they are going away.

Nach drei anstrengenden Trainingseinheiten haben unsere Hunde das Bad im See sehr genossen.
