Jultraining

Viele Meilen auf dem Fluss und im Fjäll, Fotos gibt es nur vom Fluss, im Fjäll war uns die Kamera leider eingefroren. Training läuft alles wie geplant, haben jetzt auch mal 95 km mit den Hunden gemacht und auch snacken geübt. Das Snacken üben war aber eher für uns um auszuprobieren bei welchem Hund wir Handschuhe benötigen damit die Finger dran bleiben...;))

Training is going like planned, we did now even 95 km and trained snacking the dogs, too. Snacking we trained more for us that we see at what dog we need gloves that the finger stay save at our hand...;))

Letztes Wochenende mussten unsere Hunde auch mal "richtig" arbeiten. Gäste aus dem Hotel in dem wir arbeiten haben gefragt ob sie mal eine Hundeschlittentour machen könnten. Klar können sie. Haben unsere 18 Hunde in vier Teams aufgeteilt und los ging es. Erst am Morgen 20 km und dann Mittags noch einmal die gleiche Runde. Das alles sowohl Samstag als auch am Sonntag. War ein gutes Training für die Hunde das sie 2 Mal am Tag aus dem Zwinger los mussten. Am Samstag waren sie noch ein wenig unsicher ob wir es ernst meinten, am Sonntag sind sie dann wie Profihuskies beide Male aus dem Hof geschossen.

Last weekend had our dogs a "real" work. A few guests from the hotel we work, asked us if it is possible to make a sleddogtour. Of course that´s possible. We splitted our 18 dogs into 4 teams and off we went. First round 20 km in the morning and then the same at lunchtime. The same on both days, saturday and sunday. It was a good training for our young dogs to go out two times a day from the kennel. At saturday they were not that sure if we are serious, but at sunday our profihuskies went both times out from the yard like a rocket.

Am Mittwoch und Donnerstag hatten die Hunde zum ersten Mal eine etwas intensivere Trainingseinheit. Jörg ist am Mittwoch 70 und ich bin Donnerstag 63 km gefahren. Wir sind jeweils mit 14 Hunden losgezogen, Jörg hatte bei seiner Ausfahrt sowohl Susan als auch die Kamera dabei. Auch wenn sich die Fotots eigentlich immer wiederholen, wir finden sie immer wieder toll. Ach ja, den Hunden hat das längere Training auch gut gefallen. Sie sind die Strecke im irren Tempo gegangen und die Füsse glühten vom Bremsen. Ich habe auch noch ein wenig rechts und links geübt. Da ich die beiden "Superhirne" Vino und Tchmil in lead hatte hiess es an jeder (wirklich an JEDER) Abzweigung anhalten, nach vorne gehen und die Hunde in die richtige Richtung führen. Aber ich hatte auch ein Erfolgserlebnis, zum Schluss hat Vino sogar mal in die richtige Richtung geguckt ;))) Ich hoffe das es beim Troms Quest nur geradeaus geht...Aber zwei unserer Ladies folgen den Richtungskommandos mehr oder weniger zuverlässig. Wir haben jetzt auch den Luxus das wir ein verzweigtes Trailsystem offen haben und sehr oft abbiegen müssen. Diese Saison gehört voll und ganz der Ausbidung unserer jungen Hunde! Spass macht´s :))

For the first time had our dogs on wednesday and thursday a little bit more intensive training. Jörg drove 70 km on wednesday and I 63 km on thursday. Each of us hooked up 14 dogs, Jörg had even Susan and the camera with him at his journey. And even if the pictures looks nearly all the same, we always find them great. By the way, the dogs liked the longer training. They ran the trail at a crazy speed, the feets glowed from staying at the brake. At my training I trained even left and right to the dogs. And after I had my two "superbrains" Vino and Tchmil in lead I had to go at every (really at EVERY) diversion in front to my leaddogs and showed them the way. But in the end I had one sense of achievement, Vino was at least looking into the right direction ;))) I hope that it´s going only straight at the Troms Quest... But two of our ladies go more or less reliable on commants. Now we even have the luxus that we have a branched trailsystem open and have to turn very often left or right. This season we invest a lot of time to educate our young dogs! And it´s a lot of fun :))

Bluttest und andere Abenteuer / Bloodtest and other adventures

Gestern war ich mit 15 Hunden bei unserer Tierärztin Annette Kriller in Slussfors. Es musste der obligatorische Bluttest für die Bestimmung des Antititers gemacht werden. Diese Regel soll zwar 2012 aufgehoben werden, aber im März 2011 fahren wir ja noch einmal durch Finnland zum Pasvik Trail. Also die Hunde in den Hänger und ab zum Blut abnehmen. Die Hunde hielten auch einigermassen still und wurden nachher mit einer Trainingsrunde auf dem Trail von Annette und Dave belohnt. Es war für uns alle recht spannend einen neuen Trail zu befahren. Bilder habe ich davon keine, es wurde nachher zu dunkel. Aber mein Knie ist jetzt angeschlagen und ich humpel durch die Gegend. Man sollte sich vielleicht doch nicht bei wenig Schnee mit 15 irren Junghunden auf einen völlig unbekannten Trail wagen ;))

Yesterday I was with 15 dogs at our veterinarian Annette Kriller in Slussfors. We had to do the mandatory bloodtest for the definition of the antititer against rabies. This rule should be repealed 2012, but we drive in March 2011 through Finland for the Pasvik Trail and there we need it. However, all the dogs into the trailer and let´s go to take some blood. The dogs were calm and friendly and were rewarded with a trainignsround at Annettes and Daves trail. It was exciting for all of us to drive a new trail. I have no pictures from that, it was to dark in the end. But my knee is damaged now and I´m limping around. It´s maybe not the best idea to drive a completely new trail with 15 young and crazy dogs and less snow ;))
